Four Months Later

So many websites, blogs, and social networking sites... It's hard to keep up with them all. Stuff has been happening since May, I just tend to neglect the "News" section.

Often, I just mention it on the blog.

Here's what's happening now:

1.) You can check out my art at The Goodfoot. The show will be up until next week. You can also purchase work online at: The Goodfoot.

2.) When that show comes down, a new one will go up. I'll be apart of that show too. It's 88 Strong. It's taking place next Thursday.

Things Are Happening

An update is long-overdue. The weather got very cold and rainy and I decided to become a recluse, only venturing outside to stock on food and water and attend my day job.

I wish I could say the weather is better, with June just around the corner, but it's still cold and rainy. The good news is I've been staying very busy, creating new art work.

I just finished framing 15 brand new pen and ink drawings. I'll be showing them next month...details to come.

Portland Shows

This month, I'm in (almost) all corners of the city!

In NW, at the Benjamin Benjamin Gallery you can find some of my prints or order them online.

In SE, you'll find a few new pieces at Jam on Hawthorne. Check out the Winter Art & Gift Sale taking place tonight from 5-9 PM. Sounds delightful.

And in SW, I'll be showing at The People Art of Portland. The opening reception is this Saturday (Dec. 18th) from 6 PM to 10 PM. Peoples is apart of The Settlement Galleries on the 3rd floor of the Pioneer Place Mall.

Jugtown Vinyl

Don't miss it! This Saturday my friends Jonathon Hill-Jacquard and Jade Faist are having their grand opening for Jugtown Vinyl. It's super amazing. If you haven't heard of them yet, check them out here (Official Site) and here (Facebook). They create vinyl wall art that will blow your mind. I've seen it first hand. I've seen the process. It's pretty fantastical.

...did I mention free beer? good beer?

Buttons, Buttons, Buttons

Come visit Backspace (115 NW 5th Ave, Portland OR) tonight at 8 PM to check out Hot One Inch Action, a show of button art. It's one night only. Check out my Silly Billy button on the wall and grab yourself a bag of 5 buttons for just $5.00. Come with your friends. Trade with your friends. Meet some strangers. Trade with some strangers.

::UPDATE::

Turns out the show got canceled last night. I was sad by this news. The buttons were denied entry into the US at the border. Can you believe it? The folks who put together Hot One Inch Action were sent home to Canada to do some paper work, and will hopefully reschedule the show for a future date.

I'm behind on the news. There's a few shows I'm in right now and a few that are to come. All brand new work!

Currently, I have 5 pieces up at The Goodfoot for I Am, Therefore I Think 4 (not all the work is on the website) and three pieces at The Benjamin Benjamin Gallery for The OCTOber show. The theme of the show: Octopuses. The shows will be up for the remainder of the month.

Next week, I Am... comes down at The Goodfoot and Vinyl Killers goes up. Check out my 3 records. And soon The Big 100.

New show this Saturday. Artichoke Gallery & Collective have invited me to show a few of my pieces, alongside some other talented locals, at their space on 306 SE 84th Ave. Showtime is between 7 and 11 PM. Check it out. Music too!

Jam On Hawthorne

Just confirmed: Show at Jam on Hawthorne.

When: Starting Thursday July 1st and Ending July 31st. (Whole Month of July!)
Where: Jam on Hawthorne --- 2239 Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard, Portland, OR 97214
What: My art work will cover a wall. Please, do check it out.
Why: Because Jam has tasty breakfast foods and you may want to look at illustrations of boxy looking people and non-scary monsters while you eat.

Jonathon, Jade, and myself have been hard at work putting together the best event of the year, No Bones For Halftones.

It's a one day event where you show up with a shirt or two and we screen print it for free with a design by one of our 12 different artists. There's gonna be beer, music, and plenty of artwork to look at on the walls.

Love Show

This is different from the show I mentioned below. Yes, another show focusing on a love theme.

Love Show, an event brought to you by the good people at Launch Pad Gallery and Portland City Art, will showcase lovely art by over 300 artists at Olympic Mills.

There's gonna be a little something for everyone. There will be art for love birds and the heartbroken. Do check it out this February 12th.

(1) VINYL KILLERS 7

Pop in The Goodfoot on Thursday, October 29th (5:00 PM), to see Vinyl Killers 7. Vinyl Killers is an annual event that showcases records painted by artists from all around the world.

I've never worked with vinyl before, but I tried it out and loved it. See if you can spot my contributions on the walls.

(2) SIREN NATION

And next month, check out Siren Nation. It's an amazing Women's Arts Festival that includes visual art, film, crafts, and music. The festival is held from Nov. 5 - 8.

The Kick Off Party starts Nov. 5 at Olympic Mills. I submitted 3 pieces to this year's all-women art show, titled "The Journey". The work in the exhibit depicts both historical and personal journeys of the artists.

I Am, Therefor I Think 3

Come to The Goodfoot Thursday, September 25th. I'll be apart of a group show featuring more than 75 artists.

DESCRIPTION

"It's part illustrative memoir, part social commentary. The work displays imagery any were from praying to beer to genetic engineering. There are over 75 artists with over 300 works, and a varied of mediums (etching, painting, mixed media, photography, etc).

I will be showing at Milepost 5 for The Manor of Art show. Each artist is assigned a room and granted full artistic control of it.

The exhibition will be up for 10 days. There will awesome art work and live music. Come check it out!
